Here’s a great song. I’m not sure how much everyone else likes it, but it’s a
great song. I seem to have more trouble finding bass/guitar tabs for this than
other songs by RBF. But here it is, on the trumpet, Dateless Losers, track 9 on
Cheer Up!

Intro
(-a3 –a3 –a3 e2 +f2 –a3)x2
(a3 –a3 a3 –a3 a3 b3 b3)x2
a3 a3 –a3 –a3 –a3 a3 a3 a3 –a3 –a3 a3 a3 a3 –a3 –a3 –a3 a3 a3 a3 –a3
+f2 e2

Verse
g3 g3 a3

Pre chorus
a3 +f2 g3 +f2 d2
a3 b3 b3 b3 b3 b3

Chorus
(a3 –a3 +f2 e2 b3)x3
b3 b3 –a3 –a3 –a3 +f2

Next is this horn part, basically a variation of the intro.
(b3 a3 –a3 a3 –a3 a3 b3 b3)x2
a3 a3 –a3 –a3 –a3 a3 a3 a3 –a3 –a3 a3 a3 a3 –a3 –a3 –a3 a3 a3 a3 –a3
+f2 e2

Pre chorus

Chorus

Guitar Solo
No horns, it’s a guitar solo…

Bridge (I’ve played this part as I have written it, and it sounds fine like
this, but it also sounds great if you play it up an octave, like on the album,
it’s your call)
e1 +f1 g2 a2 b2
b2 a2 g2 d2 b2
e1 +f1 g2 a2 b2
b2 a2 g2 d2

The chorus breaks down here, and this is what the trumpets play.
b3 b3 –a3 –a3 –a3 +f2

Chorus

The song modulates, and you play the chorus up a half step.
(-b3 –b3 –a3 –a3 +f2 +f2)x3
+c3 +c3 –b3 b3 –a3
