Mouthpieces

Soo, just picked up the bass trombone after 4 years on tenor... I used the basic 6 1/2 AL for tenor. Now that I am using a bass I am using the 1 1/2G. Now everytime I pickup the tenor I'm having trouble playing on the smaller mouthpiece. Is this normal or should I try and switch to a larger tenor mouthpiece to compensate? Any advice would be helpful.

But is the mouthpiece supposed to feel different thus making you sound thin until you adjust to the mouthpiece?

When I switch the mouthpiece feels different and ya I guess at first my sound was thin but after getting used to it and learning how to adjust from the bass and tenor your tone and sound should improve.
Normally for me when I switch back to tenor after playing a bass I have to adjust to the tenor mouth piece which is a Schilke 47B
