would you mind elaborating a little further?
Allow me to be blunt, then. The horns in the video I watched sounded out of tune (bad intonation) and they weren't balanced meaning I just heard a wall of sound.
One mindset in terms of balance can be thought of in the likes of a pyramid with the lower end of the shape being the low sounds and the tip being the higher sounds. You need the lows to balance the highs and the highs to balance the lows. If you have a trombone, sax (presumably alto or tenor) and a trumpet, the trombone should be playing the loudest, the sax playing in the middle, and the trumpet kind of just floating along on the top, assuming the trumpet is playing higher than the sax. Depending on each individual player and the context of the music, usually it should be a 60/40 ratio between two instruments.
Achieving that kind of balance will allow for the individual tone qualities of your players to be heard making your horn section sound unique and different rather than blatty ska horns.

Balance and good intonation is an absolute must with any horn section and will improve the sound of your band immensely.
